“SEA BASS ARE BITING”

Posted By Karen Wall, July 9, 2018
“SEA BASS ARE BITING”
“Sea bass are biting and creating fun,” said field editor Karen Wall this week in our Central Jersey reports. And while a small bag limit may not be much for many, it was secondary to this big catch for Christopher who enjoyed his birthday over the weekend while fishing for humpbacks with his family aboard the Gambler.
Fluke fishing got mixed reports depending on where you are but no one seemed to be disappointed with the action, including those fishing on the beach. Sea bass are biting and creating fun. And with the weather having cooled a little the bite may pick up this week. On the offshore grounds, field editor Tom P says it was the flip side of the previous week’s mayhem as tuna on the overall were a tough take. Conditions were marginal by week’s end through Saturday. Still, a few boats did well, but there was no concentrated action...the bites and flurries were all over the place.
