Small tins, snapper poppers, or even a piece of a silverside hung below a bobber can produce fun action on juvenile bluefish. (Photo by Toby Lapinski)
With reports of snapper blues increasing in both size and numbers this is a great time to get out and target these fun and tasty little blues. Pretty much any freshwater rod and a selection of small tins is about all you will need to catch these fish, and when they are plentiful the action can be non-stop. Snapper fishing in the breachways when I was probably 4 or 5 is one of my earliest memories of saltwater fishing and it remains an excellent way to introduce kids to the sport!
