South Shore Mass. to Maine

Posted By Greg Metcalf, August 6, 2018
Pete Santini of Fishing Finatics took a run to the canyons this week with some friends and they were rewarded with a nice 175-pound bigeye.
This is the time of the summer where fishing of both inshore and offshore fisheries is shifting into high gear. Inshore fishing for stripers has been strong all season. This is the time of the season everyone is expecting the arrival of the first big schools of mean, hungry tackle wrecking bluefish. Hopefully next week’s reports will be full of bluefish stories. Add to that a great start to the bluefin tuna season, outstanding shark fishing and an awesome canyon fishery and you have a full complement of fishing options. August is truly an exciting time of the summer fishing season.
