Phil LaGrossa checked in a beauty at Betty and Nick’s over the weekend, a 30-1/2-inch, 11-pound, 8-ounce doormat fluke. Could be destined for Dream Boat entry!
The big fluke are biting. The reports are of more and more big flatties taking killies, live snappers and more. The best of the week was Phil LaGrossa with a 30-1/2-inch fluke that weighed in at 11 pounds, 8 ounces. The Central Jersey winners in the JCAA Fluke Tournament over the weekend included Joseph Coutant of Brick with an 8.02-pound fluke at the Manasquan River port, John Chudzinski of Cherry Hill with 7.40 pounds out of the Barnegat Bay region, and Kevin Cliver of Sellersville with 8.64 pounds for tops in the Long Beach Island region.
