FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Delaware, Maryland & Chesapeake Bay

Posted By Eric Burnley, August 6, 2018
“Tough bite this morning but managed to find a few over slot fish willing to chew,” said Joe Hosler on Facebook over the weekend after a successful day of kayak striper fishing in Delaware.
Once again, we lost several days to the weather, but when the boats can access the bay and ocean they do catch fish. In the bay the reef sites produce kings, flounder, croaker and bluefish. The Old Grounds gave up some flounder and Massey’s Canyon saw decent chumming for bluefin and yellowfin tunas. The upper Chesapeake Bay is still a very dangerous place due to all the floating debris from the flooding in Pennsylvania. Conditions are improving, but running a boat at any speed but slow is a very bad idea.
