FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Delaware, Maryland & Chesapeake Bay

Posted By Eric Burnley, September 10, 2018
Before the weekend weather woes, Capt Carey Evans from the Grizzly found lots of big flounder, mahi, sea bass and ling on a trip out of Lewes, DE. Photo courtesy of Lewes Harbour Marina.
Monday through Friday saw very good fishing conditions and a good number of fish were caught from the ocean and bay. Then everything went to heck in a handbasket. All of the following reports reflect the fishing during the week. There will be major changes once the nor’easter and the hurricane go past sometime next weekend. On the Chesapeake, there was some improvement in the water quality in the Upper Bay, but this week of rain will put things back to square one. If we get a big drop in water temperature it will put the rockfish in a feeding mood to prepare for the fall migration.
