FISHING LOGS: Long Island, Metro NY
North Shore

Posted By Geoffrey Lawrence, September 10, 2018
Porgies remain the sure bet for Long Island Sound anglers, and bluefish action appears to be on the upswing.
Porgies continue to be a sure thing from one end of the North Shore to the other. Blues have appeared literally here and there. You can bag some in the City Island area along the beach and the bridges. The party boats in the Huntington area are finding good numbers of them on the night bite on diamond jigs. Around Port Jeff they are responding to jigs and trolled tubes. Over the weekend you and the kids can still enjoy bailing snappers that are now reaching the 15-inch mark.
