FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Southern New Jersey

Posted By Bob Misak, September 17, 2018
Andy at Riptide Bait and Tackle said there are a few keeper stripers in the Brigantine area, saying Capt Jim of Gregmar Charters found them on Sunday.
Anglers fishing the south coast this past week, more than likely just stayed home until the weekend. After a couple of weeks of good conditions and decent fishing, Mother Nature said it was time for some time off and threw a week long nor’easter at us, via the effects of hurricane Florence. So it was scratch one week of the two week’s left of fluke season. Hopefully we will be able to get in the last week of the season. The big news is the mullet are starting their move out of the inlets and there are a few stripers and some blues to make things interesting. The bays and backwater areas are supplying a mix of kingfish, spot, croakers, tog and some big rays, and crabbing remained very good in most areas. Flood tides on the marshes have been producing a few good striper bites on topwaters.
