FISHING LOGS: Long Island, Metro NY
West End South

Posted By Geoffrey Lawrence, October 8, 2018
Porgies like these are contributing to the mixed bag action on West End reefs and wrecks.
South Shore waters have exploded with blowfish, especially in Great South Bay. Party boats on the bottom fish grounds had true variety with porgies, sea bass, triggerfish and early season ‘tog. Even albies and bonito were on the menu so you might consider bringing a light tackle spinning outfit. Bluefish action was outstanding in the NY Bight with loads of cocktails and mediums. They say variety is the spice of life, and there is plenty of spice out there.
