FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Southern New Jersey

Dave McGee collected a $25 gift card from Riptide Bait and Tackle for weighing in this 40-inch, 25-pound striper from the North End of Brigantine on a fresh-shucked Riptide Rotter.
The past week was another tough one for those anglers trying to get out front for sea bass. But there were a few days, including Veteran’s Day Sunday, that winds calmed and allowed for some reef fishing, but the bigger humpbacks are holing up at 100 to 120 feet of ocean. Some nice blackfish are now joining the “ranks” and there are some nice days of fishing for white chins inshore as well as off. Bass fishing has picked up a bit as well, and with words of some quality bass caught up near Long Beach Island and reports of a good school of fish off Brigantine on Sunday, it appears that things are about to bust. A good number of liners are being had on bunker spoons out front, with the remainder snagging and dropping. The back bays are loaded down with schoolies, and surf anglers are just starting to see a few quality fish as well.
