WEATHER ADAPTATIONS
John Kelleher (in photo) and Butch Emmert fished in the Broadkill River and caught lots of perch, the heaviest going 1.68 and 1.35 pounds at Lewes Harbour Marina. On both sides of the Delaware, perch are keeping anglers busy along quiet creeks when the weather out front is less than hospitable.
It was another week of less than fishable weather, but anglers made the best of it on those rare days when boats could sail.  Monday saw a fantastic tuna and swordfish bite in the canyons while Saturday the inshore boats were able to find some sea bass.  On the Chesapeake, the water temperature in the Upper Bay has dropped into the 40s while in the Middle Bay it remains in the 50s. This puts the best fishing near Point Lookout and Solomon’s Island with trolling the top technique.
