FLUKE AND PORGIES OFF TO FAST START

FLUKE AND PORGIES OFF TO FAST START
Hannah Pell with a 3.89-pound porgy from Peconic Bay. She weighed the jumbo scup at Tight Lines Tackle in Sag Harbor.
Porgy season opened with a bang in Peconic Bay and the opening of fluke season on Saturday saw many good catches made along the South Shore and on the East End with a good showing of keepers and some quality fish in the mix. Bluefish showed in good numbers in several areas kicking off the spring run of choppers, and good numbers of bass continue to keep boatmen and surfcasters busy. Weakfish were reported from South Shore Bays and out east so it’s safe to say we can add them to this coming week’s menu.
