TOG TIME IS UPON US
Crafty One Customs employee, Cameron Thomas, landed this 11.68-pound tog in Rhode Island this week.
While blackfish are often seen as a late fall species, the truth is that there is some fantastic action taking place right now in shallow water! The season remains closed in Connecticut waters until the 10th, but it is open in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island waters, and those anglers who are dropping a green or Asian crab down on a jig have been doing quite well. I’ve heard of five fish over ten pounds in the last week alone, so don’t rule out this option with the incorrect assumption that the water is too warm. The waters of Buzzards Bay, Newport and Narragansett have all been producing very good catches.
