A keeper cod on the jig and a keeper sea bass on the teaser; this is what the late-fall bottom fishing offers! (Photo courtesy of the Frances Fleet)
Bottom fishing remains your best bet right now with a wide variety of species being landed. Inshore you can get a good mix of tautog and black sea bass on the rockpiles, with a sprinkling of cod being seen in Rhody waters. Out deep you can add pollock, haddock and porgies to that inshore mix. The next few weeks are usually some of the best part of the year as bottom fish mix schools and the season remains open on most all options.
