SCHOOLIE ACTION IN PECONIC CREEKS
Last week’s long range tilefish trip on the Viking Starship produced a mix of tiles, cod, pollock and other species.
Another week of things being quiet on the eastern front. However the good news comes from Ken Morse from Tight Lines Bait and Tackle in Sag Harbor where a few schoolie bass have showed up feeding on spearing along the western creeks feeding into Peconic Bay, which will be this week’s best bet. No word of on local cod fishing or flounder this week, but the Viking put together a nice catch of tiles, cod and pollock on last week’s 38-hour Tilefish Special. Most captains and anglers are anticipating the arrival of porgy season on May 1st with bluefish, weakfish and fluke right behind the scup.

Rumors of the Fleming brothers fishing some exploratory virgin wrecks this week out of the majestic Cold Spring Harbor. Lots of life. Apparently, the Captain had a handful huge Bergalls and many perch. One Bergal weighed over 5lbs! Way to go skip!
