WEAKFISH ARRIVE!

WEAKFISH ARRIVE!
First reports of weakfish of the 2017 season have come within the past two weeks aboard Reel Fantasea Charters out of Barnegat. On April 14, Reel Fantasea's Capt. Steve Purul put Philly's John Mazurek on a tiderunner using a Tsunami split tale!
Slammer, chopper and gator blues from Little Egg to Barnegat Inlet up through Seaside are on the tear. Saturday kicked off the 2017 run of bluefish along the coast with the LBI beaches and in through Barnegat Inlet keeping rods bent; if you were waiting for it to kick into gear, it’s here! Stripers are in the mix with more to come, while pockets of good size weakfish were reported along with the stripers in Barnegat Bay. Winter flounder are active and staging in lower rivers, bays and inlets, with excellent reports coming from around Manasquan and Mantoloking. Expect the blackfish bite to intensify the last part of April.
