FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Southern New Jersey

Posted By Bob Misak, April 17, 2017
Dave Showell from Absecon Bay Sportsman Center enjoyed a birthday on the bass grounds last week taking this invited guest home for his special dinner!
Fishing this past week in South Jersey certainly took a turn for the better and a few more options arose other than the “short bass and perch-a-thon” that has been the only game in town. Some large bluefish, yes bluefish, showed up at Graveling Point and the Brigantine beaches and the jetties of Atlantic City saw a run of nice eating drum to 30 pounds. There is also an insane tog bite going on in Atlantic City, and some of the jetties to the south and north are beginning to see tautog action as well. A few die-hards have even caught and released a few fluke from the inlets, and waters have warmed quickly, sitting in the mid-fifties. Words of nice weakfish in Barnegat Bay has been added to the fun, and anglers have choices now.
