FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Delaware, Maryland & Chesapeake Bay

Posted By Eric Burnley, June 12, 2017
Johnny Pendal, Jr. caught this monster 461-pound mako last week while fishing at the Elephant Trunk. The fish of a lifetime picked up a bluefish filet as a final meal just before Johnny put the boots to him.
Ocean fishing for sea bass and flounder will be the best bet for this week. The best sea bass action will be on structure beyond 20 fathoms because the only fish left on inshore structure are shorts. Flounder have been caught at reef sites 10 and 11 as well as the Old Grounds. This will be the pattern for the rest of the summer. On the Chesapeake Bay, trolling, jigging and chumming are all producing limits of striped bass. Pick your favorite technique and location and you should have great time. A few flounder were caught at the Old Grounds and some sea bass remain at sites 11 and the Del-Jersey-Land, while at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em on Sunday a 408.2-pound thresher shark was caught on the Valkyrie by Shane Martin.
