FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Delaware, Maryland & Chesapeake Bay

Posted By Eric Burnley, July 10, 2017
Meghan and Chris Horning of Washington, DC fished the Fingers aboard the Fish Whistle with Capt. Charlie Horning and caught this 39.9-pound wahoo on rigged ballyhoo on a blue and white Ilander. Photo courtesy of Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em.
The weather and inshore fishing both improved last week. The best bet for this week will be in the Delaware Bay where a mixed bag of kings, trout, triggerfish and flounder may be caught over reef sites from the upper to the lower bay. The bluefin tuna bite has moved inshore with the lumps such as the Hot Dog, Massey’s Canyon and the Hambone seeing decent action on the troll. On the Upper Chesapeake Bay it seems there are more keeper striped bass, while the Lower Bay held more blues. Both were caught by trolling, jigging and chumming.
