GOOD FLUKE BITE IN BAY & OCEAN

GOOD FLUKE BITE IN BAY & OCEAN
Quality fluke were available in the ocean and bay this week.
Recently sea bass and fluke were sharing center stage but in the past two weeks the flatties grabbed the spotlight and so far refuse to give it up. The Cholera keeps improving and anglers reported nice flatties in the 5-pound plus range. During the week the Hempstead began to produce better numbers. Whole squid and spearing/squid combos once again were the keys to taking home a jumbo. The FI Reef saw decent flattie activity. The truly notable news is that a new body of summer flatties that appeared outside the inlet a couple of weeks ago have continued to push their way into the bays and back bays. The waters at Squaw and West Island, the State Channel, Massapequa Cove and John Burns Park are yielding flatties of quality and quantity. Once again the best scup action is to the west at Sheepshead Bay, the Marine Parkway Bridge, Jamaica Bay and the Breezy Point Jetty.
