FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay

Posted By Tom Pagliaroli, August 7, 2017
The Hudson is heating, and the bigeye have finally showed. Granted, the numbers are small but will swell by the day. Yellowfin and bluefin are in the mix. The yellowfin bite in the canyons remains strong on the troll and chunk, with the latter requiring some finesse in tackle and tactic as they are proving a bit leader shy. Lemke’s Canyon is strong contender as it’s yielding yellowfin to 80 pounds along with good counts of bluefin. Mahi are suddenly abundant, and the tilefish action in both northern and southern canyons is adding spice to the offshore safaris. White and blue marling encounters are on the upswing.
