WEAKS MAKING A SPLASH

WEAKS MAKING A SPLASH
Weakfish have come on strong lately, particularly in Jamaica Bay.
Unsettled sea conditions from offshore storms made for tough fishing during most of the week. Fortunately it seems that most species did not flee the scene and summer flatties, porgies and sea bass can still be found on local reefs and wrecks. However, be prepared to head to the deep water spots for quality fish. Weakfish are slowly making their move into the waters. To the west they are lurking around Jamaica Bay and the Marine Parkway Bridge, and to the east try Gilgo near buoy 35. Take your shot with small plastics or sandworms.
