WEATHER WOES
Robert O'Neal from Millsboro DE was fishing on his boat One More 4 out of Indian River Inlet over the weekend and hit this 50-inch cobia that tipped the scale at Lewes Harbour Marina to the 42-pound mark.
We had another week of rough seas in the ocean. Waves ran 3 to 5 feet and most fishing trips were either canceled or unproductive. The Delaware Bay saw decent sea conditions and triggerfish, croaker and a few flounder were caught over reef sites. This week is shaping up as another windy one so your best bet is going to be in the bay for a mixed bag of whatever you can find. On the Chesapeake rockfish (striped bass), blues and Spanish mackerel are beginning to school up and chase bait as fall approaches. Look for diving birds around the mouths of rivers or structure in the open bay. Cast metal lures or bucktails to the surface action or troll with spoons, bucktails or hoses.
