FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Central New Jersey

Posted By Karen Wall, September 18, 2017
From September 22-24, New Jersey’s boat dealers take over the grounds of the Lakewood BlueClaws Stadium to present a terrific buying experience at the Jersey Shore Boat Sale and Expo, with both new and used boats on sale from Friday through Sunday.
Bonito, bluefish, false albacore and porgies. Those are the words on the tips of most of the tongues right now. Striped bass are starting to pop up in spots, giving hope that the fall run will bust open every day now. Things are likely to be a little tough midweek as Jose moves along but folks are hoping the hurricane’s winds will be what’s needed to kick-start the run at last. The single blackfish per person limit is causing often quick work on the inshore snags and sod banks, but for jetty jocks looking to score it’s also creating added opportunity with triggerfish and sheepshead bycatch. For those looking to score a good price on a new or used center console or skiff, the September 22-24 Jersey Shore Boat Sale and Expo in Lakewood this week is a great event. Presented by the Marine Trades Association of New Jersey, the show runs Friday from 11-6, Saturday from 10-6 and Sunday 10-5 at Lakewood BlueClaw at Stadium, 2 Stadium Way in Lakewood, NJ. Admission is $5 per person; children 12 & younger are free.
