SCUP AND TOG ON REEFS

SCUP AND TOG ON REEFS
Blackfish season got off to a promising start with tog to 7 pounds reported from inshore reefs.
Porgies are the dominate species right now. They can be found at all reefs including the Rockaway, Hempstead and Atlantic Beach. Blackfish got off to a promising start with plenty of shorts and a few keepers including a 7-pounder taken at the AB Reef. Local bridges have some ‘tog but most are shorts. All indications are that green crabs are working just fine. Party boats to the west in the Sheepshead Bay area reported a solid run of false albies. Bass action has been encouraging. The State Channel and Fire Island Inlet are good spots to try for keepers.
