IMPROVING BASS BITE

IMPROVING BASS BITE
Dan Russo scored this beautiful 40.8-pound striped bass off the beach on Saturday morning just before first light, and weighed in at The Reel Seat in Brielle.
The weather tortured a lot of folks last week, with a good day of fishing followed by a day that just wasn’t conducive to being on the water. Patience is being sorely tested because the stripers continue to drag their tails about showing up. There are scattered reports of big fish being caught, but nothing anyone’s willing to hang their hat on as proof the run is really underway. The sea bass fishing has been good but folks are working hard to find keepers. Porgies and triggerfish are rounding out many a catch. We just need some good weather so folks can actually enjoy a day on the water.
