FISHING LOGS: Long Island, Metro NY
West End South

Posted By Geoffrey Lawrence, October 30, 2017
Joey Leggio guided Paul and his crew to this catch of stripers to 44 pounds outside of Debs Inlet.
Bass are making their move so it’s time to make your move. The waters south of the Fire Island Needle, the areas in and around Debs Inlet, the Roundhouse and the Pink Hotel all saw good catches of stripers. Trolled bunker spoons in white, green and white or silver were deadly. MoJo rigs nailed their fair share of bass as well. The night bite on live eels continues to gain momentum at Jones and Fire Island Inlets. As for ‘tog you will get plenty of rod bending action on shorts and the number of keepers continue to improve. However, you must get past the inlet as action at the bridges has very, very few keepers. So far green crabs are working just fine.
