FISHING LOGS: Long Island, Metro NY

Posted By Tom Melton, October 30, 2017
With all the lakes stocked, the fall trout run on Long Island stepped it up a bit this week. Small inline spinners, Berkley baits, trout worms and spoons have all accounted for action. For bass, the lakes are turning over and fish are becoming more cooperative. Buddy Rick Holmberg had a fat 2 pounder at Lower Lake on Friday using a small jig near the dam area.
For trout fans on Long Island, the DEC will be hosting a Trout Management Meeting on Long Island this Thursday. You will be given the opportunity to voice opinions concerning the DEC efforts to manage the stream trout populations here on LI. The Meeting will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Suffolk County Water Authority Education Center, 260 Motor Parkway, Hauppauge, New York 11788.
