GOM VAREITY
Bottom fishing has been great for pollock and red fish in the Gulf of Maine, and with haddock reopening on November 1 the options improve. (Photo courtesy of The Yankee Fleet)
Fishing in the Gulf of Maine has been very good this fall. Tuna fishing has been off the charts, but with the commercial season currently closed there is a lot of catch-and-release angling going on as there is a major slug of fish being found over the 73-inch limit. Bottom fishing for pollock and red fish is excellent, and with haddock reopening on November 1 there will be even more options for angles heading out in the Gulf.
