Ryan recently landed this big albie while fishing with Capt. Mike Roy aboard Reel Cast Charters.
This has been an unbelievable year for albies. Because I make the calls for the surf report also, I get the lowdown on the albie bite all across New England and it’s still good from lower Cape Cod to the Vineyard to the West End of the Canal through Buzzards Bay to Newport and right on through all of Long Island Sound. We’ve had three significant weather events and we still have water temps in the 60s, along with pretty nice weather most days. It’s really quite amazing. And while I don’t actually believe that there will be albies around at Christmas, the possibility for a Thanksgiving albie seems within reach. If you want to get on them this week try the waters between the Thames and Niantic Bay or Anywhere between the Housy and Greenwich.
