OFF TO A GREAT START

OFF TO A GREAT START
Part of a solid mixed-bag of bottom fish landed by Alan Sharaf aboard Big Game Fishing RI this week.
November fishing is off to a great start with unseasonably warm air and water temperatures proving anglers with excellent late season opportunities. Striped bass, bluefish and albies continue to chase bait along the beaches and the ground fishing for black sea bass, scup and tautog has been awesome! Barring any major weather events we may see the good fishing continue into December.

Walked the beach today from Watch Hill east to the Weekapaug Breachway and back, from 2p until dark. Not too many casters were out, but 18"+ stripers were being hooked up, along with a few specimens from hit-and-runs of mostly no-show (as in, no birds) albies. Hooked an albie myself (at least, that's what it felt and fought like) on a Cast Master, but lost it in the suds just before beaching it. Warm, weird, beautiful day out there today--waters still warm enough for wading, not too windy, broken, overcast sky that yielded a magnificent sunset, with a brief rainbow as icing on the cake.
