FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Central New Jersey

Posted By Karen Wall, November 13, 2017
While much of the party and charter boat was stacked up between Manasquan and Barnegat with private anglers jostling for bit stripers, the Big Jamaica was offshore on Saturday for limits of sea bass, a number of porgies, some bluefish and a few cod, including a 22-pounder for pool-winner Richard D Wilson from Mt Rainier MD.
In case you haven’t heard, it’s all about those bass, about those bass, about those bass! The northwest winds late in a week cooled the water and fired up the stripers. The only real problem was the volume of boat traffic. While some struggled to catch fish, not everyone did. Bunker pods are holding big stripers; the biggest of the weekend was a 53.75-pounder that hit the scales at Creekside Outfitters in Waretown. Sea bass fishing has been excellent, and blackfish have been providing lots of action, which bodes well for the increase in the bag limit as of Thursday. Get out and fish. They’re here.
