FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Central New Jersey

Posted By Karen Wall, April 16, 2018
Jim Schiller with the first weigh-in of the season at Creekside Outfitters in Waretown, a nice 21-inch, 2.66-pound weakie caught on a chartreuse jig head with a white curly tail. Jim’s weakies is one of several reported in this Barnegat Bay locale in the past week.
The activity up in Raritan Bay had lots of folks headed that direction last week, but the warm spell on Friday and Saturday was enough to convince people to go out and fish up and down the area. The reports of keeper bass are still very much hit or miss, but winter flounder and white perch are putting fish on the plate. The blackfish bite was tough, by all reports. If Mother Nature will stop smacking us around, hopefully the fish will be as itching to play as we are dying to catch them. Good news out of the Waretown area as weakfish are reported, one from Creekside Outfitters.
