Waiting on Ice

Posted By Toby Lapinski, January 9, 2017
Waiting on Ice
The western parts of Massachusetts, say out past Worcester, have more widespread fishable ice. Closer to the coast, however, it's still an in-between game of mostly skim ice limiting both open and hard water angling.
Locally it's much of the same as recent weeks with the majority of anglers either hunkering down to wait out the winter or chomping at the bit for safe ice to form. You can try your luck for trout in the Plymouth area if you can find an open lake or head well west and find fishable ice out past Worcester.
