FISHING LOGS: New Jersey & Delaware Bay
Delaware, Maryland & Chesapeake Bay

Posted By Eric Burnley, May 14, 2018
Capt Len Karpen on the Fomo who is currently fishing up North In the upper bay area near Ship John Light sent some photos to Lewes Harbour Marina over the weekend of some of the stripers his charters have been catching.
The best fishing this week will begin on Tuesday when the black sea bass season opens. As a general rule, the action is red hot during the beginning of the sea bass season until all the keepers have been caught. After that it becomes a slow pick of big fish with lots of shorts to keep anglers busy. Delaware Bay holds good numbers of black drum and the best action has been from late afternoon until after dark. Clams have been the best bait and be careful of late day thunderstorms. On the Chesapeake, the trophy striped bass season has been a bit of a disappointment. A few more were caught last week, but most angers are now waiting for May 16 when most of the bay and tidal rivers will open with a two-fish limit.
