    Karen over at AW Marina said that local bluefin kept a couple of her customers entertained this week, one of whom managed three fish on their first outing to the scallop grounds. Karen said that sharking has remained productive as well, with a number of mako and blue sharks reported this week.

    Karen over at AW Marina said that sharking was good early in the week for a mix of smaller makos and blue sharks. Karen did not hear a whole lot about tuna this week, but did have one customer report cobia cruising on the surface around Block Island.

    Karen over at AW Marina said that flats of bunker and pails of chum were flying out of the store this weekend as people are heading out to try for threshers south of Montauk. Karen said the chub mackerel are really fueling the fire this year, with some even peeking into the Sound. Karen mentioned some decent bluewater action for Captain Bentley of the Reelin' who scored while marlin and a pile of mahi on a recent trip to the canyons.

    Karen over at AW Marina said that here offshore clientele have been very excited about the fishing this year, and the shop has been very busy keeping everyone outfitted for the bluewater action. Yellowfin and bigeye have been very consistent in recent weeks, which Karen hopes will continue. Karen mentioned that sharking has remained great, at least partially due to the recent influx of mackerel in our region.
