November 20, 2017:
It was a good week of bass action for patrons sailing on the Golden Eagle. Capt. Rich Falcone said early week bass action was some of the best he has seen in recent years. The bass were mostly keepers with fish to 30 pounds coming over the rails. Friday and Saturday saw a mix of bass and blues being decked. The boat will be doing a special Thanksgiving Day trip leaving the dock at 6:30 a.m. and returning at 1 p.m. She will also be doing Striper Bass Marathon Trips on Friday, Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving leaving the dock at 6:30 a.m.

Another boat that enjoyed a good week of inshore fishing was the Golden Eagle. Capt. Rich Falcone said all his trips this past week found big blues with pool fish topping the 20-pound mark on some trips and plenty of albacore. "It's a shame we lost Sunday and probably Monday, as we were on a good roll," Rich said.

It was a decent week of fishing with big blues, and albacore supplying the bulk of the fishing said Capt. Rich Falcone of the Golden Eagle. Rich said some days big blues to 20-plus pounds dominated the catch while others saw false albacore providing the bulk of the fishing. Rich told me at least now anglers jigging bluefish and albies and catching sea bass will be allowed to keep some of them.
