Capt. Joe said the Jamaica II has had up and down fluke fishing though it was better toward the end of the week with more keepers.

    Capt. Joe said the Jamaica II was out fishing all week and the catches steadily improved as the week went on. He said the weather forecasts kept people away needlessly because the rain never materialized. His anglers had a plethora of good fluke and sea bass through the weekend.

    After a few days of wicked weather, Capt. Joe had the Jamaica II out and the fishing was good into the weekend, with a mixed bag of fluke and sea bass and some anglers with limit catches. The pool winners have been in the 5- to 6-pound range.

    Capt. Joe on the Jamaica II said Rich Caputo caught the first 10-pound fluke of the season on the boat. It weighed in at 10 pounds, 1 ounce and leads the monthly pool, he said. The fishing has been decent with limit catches and some very nice fish coming over the rails. Ed Nolan had an 8.4-pounder and Theresa Pogue was reeling up some nice fish and making her father Frank Pogue proud, he said. They didn't sail Saturday and Sunday because of the storm winds.     Capt. Joe on the Jamaica II said the fluke fishing has been very good, with fish to 6 pounds coming over the rails consistently. The sea bass have been biting as well and people are catching limits of nice fish.
