Jamaica II

November 13, 2017:
On the Jamaica II, Capt. Joe said there was very good sea bass and porgies fishing over the weekend. There were not as many lunkers but there were plenty of limits on bass and a couple limits on porgies. Chris Borgunn from Lewes, DE, was high hook with a limit of 15 sea bass to 4.1 pounds and 50 big porgies. He also had a 7-pound cod.

    On the Jamaica II, Capt. Joe said the sea bass fishing has been excellent with plenty of limit catches on the boat. The fish are good-sized and anglers are adding plenty of jumbo porgies to their catches, as well as some winter flounder and some cod. The boat is sailing daily.

    On the Jamaica II, Capt. Joe said they have had excellent fishing for black sea bass with quite a few jumbo fish and boat limits. There have been porgies in the mix, along with some winter flounder. Brad Davis from Doylestown, PA, was high hook on one trip with a limit of sea bass to 3.11 pounds and 32 porgies. Ralph Molinaro III had his limit of bass and 26 porgies. Porgies were mixed. Some jumbos in the mix.

    On the Jamaica II, Capt. Joe said they've found some excellent wreck fishing for the past couple of weeks and now that sea bass is open some hefty bags of fresh fish filets are going home. "Catches now are sea bass, big porgies, triggerfish and even a codfish here and there," Joe said. He said Wes Shourt of Manahawkin had 15 sea bass to 4 pounds, a near limit of porgies, three triggers and a cod on one recent trip, Sam McGowan of Linden had 15 sea bass and 45 porgies, Everett Williams of Bristol, Pa limited out on both sea bass and porgies while bagging a cod, while Cornelius Weems of Philly had 13 sea bass and 47 porgies.

    On the Jamaica II, Capt. Joe said the porgy fishing has been very good since the last storm moved through. Before the storm the boat had a trip that picked up a lot of nice fish, including triggerfish, sizeable winter flounder and ling as well as porgies. After the blow, the fishing was just as good, with plenty of triggerfish and jumbo porgies to keep guys reeling. He's ready for the reopening of black sea bass fishing on Sunday, October 22.
