The crew of the Skylarker got in a trio of trips right before Christmas. Capt. Steve Spinelli said an early week trip with the Art Stokes party enjoyed a good pull of tog to Kenny's 6-pound whitechin. A mid-week Mud Hole trip with the Ed Bannon charter found a good pull of sea bass to Ed's 5-pound knucklehead and Bud Callahan's 3-pound tog. The Jerry Blindberry group hammered the stripers a few days before Christmas with Roseanne decking an 18-pounder for the pool. Steve said the boat will continue to fish through the end of January weather permitting.

Steve continued by telling us on Friday, he had the Paul Tomachevich (apology if misspelled) group out and Jim McClure was the day's hero with a nice 6-pound tog. Capt. Steve Spinelli aboard the Skylarker said the week started off good with striped bass of 42 inches and 38 pounds taking top honors. Switching over to tog charters, the next day saw limits for most to 8 pounds with John Givens of Monmouth Beach Car Toppers and who but Derek Bielitz of Fisher Price Charters had joined the group and took the pool – RINGER! Capt. Steve went on to say he later had Harry Hodapp of Westfield, NJ out with Rich Hollse taking the pool. Capt. Steve ended the week with guys from Jersey Coast B&T for a day of decent blackfish and sea bass.
