July 16, 2018:
It was a busy week for the crew of the Skylarker. Capt. Steve Spinelli said he started the week off with members of the Belmar Fishing Club who enjoyed a decent bite of fluke to Rich Westberg's 3-pound pool fish. The Ed Kacks charter decked a mix of fluke and sea bass, while the Sean Cody party hammered sea bass to 4 pounds. The Karen Bergie excursion savored a mix of ling and sea bass. The Fred Maires charter opted for fluke fishing with Chris Mantlik topping the catch with a 6-pound fish and his limit. The Alvin Zimmerman group savored a catch of ling, sea bass, porgies and mackerel. On Saturday the Smith party boated a good pick of ling, sea bass and winter flounder.

    Four trips aboard the Skylarker enjoyed some very good bottom fishing his past week despite the weather. Capt. Steve Spinelli said he started the week off by putting the Scott Honda party into a good pick of sea bass and ling with a 4-pound knucklehead the pool fish for Joe Collins. Sea bass, winter flounder and ling made the decks for the Spiegel and Sons Oil Company trip. A memorial trip with the Pat DePortere family for Pat's brother Steve enjoyed a good bite of sea bass, ling, winter flounder and some Boston mackerel with a 3-12-pound sea bass the money fish for Rich. The Crechnock Builders excursion also found a good catch of sea bass, winter flounder, ling and Bostons.

    It was a busy week for the crew of the Skylarker. Capt. Steve Spinelli said his first trip was with the Christine Buteras charter who enjoyed a good bite of ling, cod, pollock and winter flounder. Next up was the Ivan Newswanger party who opted for blues and found a slip pick of fish. The Deloris Shirk group bounced sinkers for a good catch of ling, while the Button Line Aggregate trip boated ling, whiting, pollock and winter flounder. The Orrstown Builder party decked the same mix of fish. Members of the Top Road Gun Club opted for fluke fishing and saw Dave Brink take the pool with a 3-pound fish. On Saturday members of the Bensalem Fishing Club scored a good pull of ling and winter flounder along with a fat lobster.

  • June 25, 2018 Open or Close

    The crew of the Skylarker started off the week by putting some personal from the Dix Joint Base Recreation Department into a good bite of sea bass and ling. Capt. Steve Spinelli said he next fished with the Joel Zook party who also found a good bite of sea bass. Next up was the Don O'Conner charter who also hammered the sea bass with Bob Healy taking the pool with a nice knucklehead. A late week trip with the Virginia Good family caught a nice mix of sea bass, ling and winter flounder, while Friday's charter with members of the Philadelphia Police Department opted for a good bite of cocktail blues. Last but not least, 10- to 12-pound slammers made the trip for the Lavern Zimmerman group on Saturday.

  • June 18, 2018 Open or Close

    The week aboard the Skylarker started off with a good bite of ling and sea bass for members of the Leary Fishing Club with Nick Garman decking his limit and the pool. Capt. Steve Spinelli said next up were members of the Renaissance Fishing Club who also enjoyed a good sinker bouncing trip with "Hot Dog" Tony taking his limit and the pool with a 4.3-pound knucklehead. The Mike Giordoano group decked ling and sea bass to Mike's 3-pound sea bass. The Hawthorne charter caught plenty to sea bass and ling with Ed Bower's 4-pound ling the money fish. On Friday the John Sangiovani excursion kept the good fishing going with John's son Shannon's 3-12-pound sea bass the pool fish. The crew finished up the week on Saturday with a group from the Florence American Legion who put together a good pull of ling and sea bass with Jimmy "the Lark" taking the pool with a 4-pound sea bass.
