Captain Bob of the Sunbeam Fleet reports another good week of fishing. The good news is the blues showed up this Thursday so hard that customers were begging to go bottom fishing to rest their arms! The rest of the week the blues played hide and seek. Sunday morning was great with blues up to 16 pounds. As always, during the slack and slow periods we have been fishing the bottom which has been excellent with porgies and sea bass. The 4:00 Sunset Stripers trips have seen a mix of blues and bass with a little fluke fishing earlier this week with a lot of action and fluke up to 5 pounds. This week our Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday trips switch over to our August schedule where we will be sailing at 8:00 am for a Half-Day Bottom Fishing trip. We will continue to have our Blues and Bass Half-Day trips Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as our Sunset Stripers now leaving 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with the Kids Special leaving at 2:30 pm every Thursday.

Capt. Bob of the Sunbeam Fleet said, "We are now fishing daily. Half-day trips were very good through Tuesday with limit amounts of stripers on both trips. We also saw bass up to 48 inches which you can view on our Facebook page. As the weekend approached, the fishing became very tide dependent, with the fish only biting around the strength of the tide. When the bass go off the bite, we have been switching to sea bass and porgy fishing which has also been producing very good results. Fluke fishing has seen a mix of porgy, sea bass, and fluke with mainly porgy and sea bass. Fluke has been a little slow but the pool winners saw fluke up to 8 pounds. The weather is heating up and so is the water! Make sure to book your spots on our open boat fishing as well as private charters. Visit us on the web at or give us a call at (860) 443-7259."

Captain Bob of the Sunbeam Fleet reports, "It was another good week of fishing. Half-day blues and bass trips showed good action again on smaller stripers. Our midweek trips were excellent, however the weekend trips were a little slower due to breezy condition but we were still able to land fish! We're starting to see some bigger fish move in now that the water is warming up; the biggest fish being a 45-inch 40-pound striper caught aboard the Sunbeam VI. We also saw a couple more blues this week so hopefully they're on their way. Fluke fishing stayed local this week and had a nice pick of decent fluke up to 5 pounds with some black sea bass mixed-in. We're now sailing daily so make sure to check out our website to reserve your spots on any of our open boat or private charter trips."
