  • November 27, 2017 Open or Close

Mike Cardinal at Misquamicut Bait and Tackle said that fishing from the beaches was very good again this past week with wave after wave of bait and striped bass making their way south. The majority of the fish being caught are schoolies, but there are still some larger fish up to around 20 pounds mixed-in. Very few boat reports this past week due to strong winds and rough seas, but the few people that did get out there reported doing well for tautog and black sea bass.

  • November 13, 2017 Open or Close

Mike Cardinal at Misquamicut Bait and Tackle said that there was still a lot of activity along the beaches with small bass chasing bait in tight to shore during the day. There have been some reports of larger stripers being caught after dark. Tautog fishing really picked up this past week with quite a few boats finding limit catches on the local reefs. Black sea bass fishing remains very good and there are still some nice sized scup around. It seems as if the false albacore have finally started to thin out and they may be about done for the season.

  • November 6, 2017 Open or Close

Mike Cardinal at Misquamicut Bait and Tackle reported that fishing was very good late-week along the local beaches. There weren't a lot of really big fish reported, but the numbers of striped bass and false albacore feeding along the beach was impressive. Black sea bass fishing remains red with fish on pretty much every reef and rock pile. Tautog fishing is pretty good and should only continue to get better as water temperatures fall.
