Mijoy

September 9, 2019:
Capt. Joe on the Mijoy said, "Glad the weather has straightened out and we can get back to fishing. Tuesday the CT Charter and Party Boat Association ran a fundraiser for the Special Olympics and Breast Cancer raising $15,000! A great event with The Hometown Foundation and I-Heart Radio doing the legwork and advertising for the event. One of the athletes onboard the Mijoy caught the second place sea bass and won a 500 dollar prize package. Margaretta and her family had such a great time as well as the other people aboard. And we are already looking forward to next year's event! On the fishing it was very good with scattering of fluke, triggers, small blues and mackerel but the main characters were the sea bass and porgies. Let's see you this week the weather sounds great!"

Capt. Joe on the Mijoy said, "It was another super summer week with beautiful weather and superb fishing. The best of the best this week was a teenager out of Minnesota by the name of Keelan; he made a bunch of trips his last one an all-day affair. He started out bait fishing and when he'd had enough porgies, out came the secret weapon; he put on a jig and caught a few mackerel, a few blues and a few sea bass. Don't forget September starts 50 porgy and 7 sea bass limits and we sail 7 days a week. I'm writing this Saturday night while a boatload of people are dancing to the famous "Your Parent's Music." We do all kinds of charters, not just fishing; we do stargazing trips, memorial trips, music trips, fireworks trips and of course fishing so, if a big boat is what you need, call the Mijoy."

Capt. Joe on the Mijoy said, "Well with one week left of summer, and school about to begin, we had a lot of young anglers out. Some of them for multiple times this week. One of our young sharpies on an all-day trip in the middle of a porgy blitz put on a jig and caught mackerel, cocktail blues and sea bass. Keegan stayed in CT for a couple of weeks to give the Minnesota fish a break. Starting September 1 the 45 porgy and 7 sea bass limits go into effect. The schedule is all-day trips sailing at 6 am Monday through Friday and half days on Saturday and Sunday sailing at 6 am and 1 pm. No reservations needed."

Capt. Joe from the Mijoy reports that, "It's like a broken record right now with good porgy and black sea bass fishing 7 days a week with more sea bass on the all-day trips along with the trigger fish. Kids are having a blast catching while at the same time filling the freezer with some great boneless fillets. The lack of blues has put a cramp on next weekend's WICC Bluefish Tournament, but going out for just a handful of fish for the whole boat is very counterproductive. We have charters available in September and October so give us a call and we can get you a trip for your church group, family reunion, Scout group or business; call 860-443-0663 to book."

Capt. Joe on the Mijoy said, "We had another good week of fishing with a lot of big sea bass and porgies, along with a handful of blues, some mackerel and some big triggerfish too! The best sea bass trips are on the all day trips Monday and Wednesday and Friday, but the half day trips are doing really well also with a mixed bag but mostly large porgies. The weather has been great and now is the time to get the kids out on the water, school is just a few weeks away."
