November 20, 2017:
Capt. Tom of the Sea Wife IV reports the wind has been brutal this week, which caused many charters to be canceled. Paul, Skip, Alex, Johnny and the boys were able to get off the dock and caught a sea bass limit, a couple of cod and some scup south of Block Island. On Tuesday, Brian, Gokey, Burt, Bruce, Peter, Matt and Joe caught a sea bass limit, a pile of scup and some bluefish south of Block Island.     Capt. Tom of the Sea Wife IV reports being blown out several days this week, however the trips that he was able to squeeze in enjoyed good catches. Monday, Mike from East Hampton airport, Top Gun pilots Eric, Chris, Ally, Beth, Ellen, Jen and Chris caught 8 nice keeper striped bass along with 3 false albacore and 30 short stripers before stopping off at Liars Saloon. On Thursday, Joe Mezzacappa, Anthony, Mike, Gerard, Robbie and the boys caught a blackfish limit up to Anthony's 8-pounder, and then hit a wreck during the hard flood tide for 20 keeper sea bass. Nice day guys. Sunday, Jim Denzer, Matt, Billy, Mike, Christian, Steve, Andrew and the boys caught a sea bass limit, a bunch of scup and a few cod. Nice day guys. Please note that late November weekday charters are still available along with weekdays in December. As the water cools, the blackfish will chew up a storm. Therefore don't miss out. Give Capt.     Capt. Tom of the Sea Wife IV was forced to cancel his trips early in the week due to the gale force winds. The boat did get right back into the swing of things on Wednesday with Andrew Dannin, his wife Gayle "Lady Luck" and Tim caught 3 keeper bass a bunch of short bass and 23 bluefish. Thursday, Matt Adee "The Duke of Fluke", Billy, Jim, George, Todd, Dan and Paul caught 2 keeper bass and 17 bluefish along with 64 big sea bass and a few scup. Good day guys. Friday's a.m. trip with Mike Wilson, Angus, Angelo and the boys caught a striped bass limit and a pile of shorts along with some keeper sea bass and a few scup. Friday's afternoon trip with Larry Goetz, Howie, Matt, Dave, "Bud Light" and the boys caught a nice striped bass limit along with a pile of shorts that were released unharmed. Saturday, uncle Frank Carrozzo, uncle Don, Flip Flop, Mike, Vince, Don, Bill, Rizz and the gang caught 4 keeper stripers, 26 short bass, 80 keeper sea bass and 30 porgies Great day guys. Sunday was another blowout with the weather. Mid to late November weekday charters are still available along with weekdays in December. As the water cools, the blackfish will chew up a storm.   • October 30, 2017 Open or Close

    Capt. Tom of the Sea Wife IV reports Steve Forte and the boys fished Sunday morning and caught a few keeper bass. The afternoon trip had Dr. Rachel from Montauk PT along with her 4 little daughters, Emona and Adrienne caught their striped bass limit and a pile of bluefish. It was great seeing the little girls crank in big fish. On Monday, John Yander, his sons along with the gang caught a sea bass limit of jumbos along with John's 23-pound cod. Great fishing guys. Thursday, Barry, Mike, Phil, Mike and John battled the weather for 10 keeper blackfish along with 20 sea bass off Fishers Island. Friday, with the same crew as the day before and a few additions of Barry, Phil, John, his brother Matt, Wayne, Kevin , Dan and Danny braved the wind and swell south of Block Island for an eleven man limit of 88 beautiful big sea bass along with a few cod and scup. Saturday morning with Nyron Persad, his wife Nicole and Mr. and Mrs. Persad caught a striped bass limit along with 20 blues and 28 keeper sea bass and a few scup. Saturday afternoon with Scott Carrol and the Staten Island boys caught a striper limit along with a whopping 42 jumbo bluefish. Great day guys. Capt.     Capt. Tom of the Sea Wife IV reports the great striped bass run continues to shine each day they sail. Monday, Jim Ulinski, Kenny, Billy, Lawrence, Mike and Pat caught a striped bass limit and 40 keeper sea bass along with some scup. Tuesday and Wednesday, Capt. Tom fished commercially, which was excellent. On Thursday, Buck Caretsky, Steve, Karen and "Wild Bill" Jewels caught there bass limit up to Bill's 34-pounder. Afterwards they tried bottom fishing, but retreat to albies at Shagwong instead due to the sudden blow out of the Northwest. Phil Mando, Tom, Burt, Tom, Jimmy, Jake, George, Brian and Bill worked hard for their bass limit on live eels with fish to Brian's 40-pounder. The group then proceeded to catch 50 keeper sea bass and scup. The Sea Wife IV still has plenty of weekday openings available for tog, cod and sea bass in November and weekdays and weekends for December. Please call Capt. Tom at 1-(800) 308-8969.
