Hyper Striper Sportfishing

November 20, 2017:
Capt. Pete Wagner of the of the Hyper Striper told us striper fishing was excellent during the first part of the week with limits of keepers and plenty more fish being caught and released. Thursday's blackfish opener produced whitechins to 8 pounds amid some good fishing. Things went downhill from there with poor conditions keeping the boat from getting to the blackfish hot spots and in port over the weekend. "Hopefully some better conditions this week will see both the tog and striper fishing rebound quickly," he said.

Capt. Pete Wagner of the Hyper Striper told me it was another super week of striper action for charters aboard his boat. Pete said it was limit catches for all his charters with bass in the 15- to 30-pound class and plenty of keepers also being caught and released. Pete said he will start mixing in some tog fishing once the bag limit goes up this week.

Capt. Pete Wagner of the Hyper Striper gave us a call to say the striper fishing was red hot this past week. Pete said bass in the 15- to 25-pound class dominated the fishing, with the top fish this past week being a 40-pounder which was weighed and released. Pete said he hopes the fishing lasts a while longer before we switch over to blackfish mid month.

Capt. Pete Wagner of the Hyper Striper said it was an up and down week of striped bass fishing. Pete told me the week started off strong with fish to 30 pounds being decked. Mid week fishing was a lot pickier, but the fishing rebounded over the weekend. Hopefully the fishing will become more consistent this week now that the new moon is past us, he said.

Capt. Pete Wagner of the Hyper Striper said it looks like the bass fishing is getting ready to break open, as he saw some nice fish on his trips this past week. Pete said the best fishing was later in the week with fish to 30 pounds coming over the rails, along with some jumbo slammers. "Let's hope the fishing continues to build," Pete added.
