Previous Reports

  • December 25, 2017 Open or Close

Over at Trophy Tackle in Babylon, Greg said the local streams should produce into January with drifting nightcrawlers a good option. For bass fans, slow moving worms or jigs will produce, while patience with a jerk bait will also prove effective.

  • November 20, 2017 Open or Close

Over at Trophy Tackle in Babylon, Greg said the kids had a banner week on largemouths in the local ponds – Southards, Argyle and Belmont – with small crankbaits accounting for the best action. For trout, Belmont and Southards were the hot spots with worms and small spinnersspoons accounting for the best action.

  • November 13, 2017 Open or Close

Over at Trophy Tackle in Babylon, Greg said the bass front was real quiet this week, but if you want trout, Argyle has been stocked and even Belmont has produced nicely on holdover browns.

  • November 6, 2017 Open or Close

Over at Trophy Tackle in Babylon, Greg said the trout bite is very good in all the stocked local ponds and even Belmont Lake State Park. Argyle is seeing good action with small worms, spinners and gold or silver spoons working best. Berkley trout baits will also induce strikes. Bass action is somewhat quiet, but that could be from a lack of angler effort with all the trout around.
