Lil' Toot Charters

November 20, 2017:
Capt. John Rainone of Lil Toot Charters fished on Monday this past week with Anthony Fazulo's group. They had a productive trip with a good number of keeper tog but had to work through a lot of short fish for them catch. Along with the tautog they had a couple of keeper cod. Capt. John has a few dates still open but will be finishing up his season on or around December 3rd.

Capt. John Rainone of Lil Toot Charters fished on Sunday with Frank Mignacca's group from Syracuse. The morning started out great with a very good bite of tautog but for some reason the fishing shut right off in the afternoon. They still managed to boat 27 keepers up to around 8 pounds and had close to 50 throwbacks. Capt. John still has some prime dates open for fall tautog fishing.

Capt. John Rainone of Lil Toot Charters was out on Saturday with Anthony Fazulo's group and they made the trip out to Block Island in search of sea bass. They had no problem limiting-out on nice-sized sea bass and also had a keeper tautog and about 35 big scup. A few other trips that had been planned had to be canceled due to the weather. Capt. John still has some dates open in his schedule for fall tautog fishing. With water temperatures still above 60 it's likely to be a late season.

Capt. John Rainone of Lil Toot Charters started off the week on Monday with the second day of a two-day charter with Ed Makin's group. The first day had been very good, but the tautog fishing on Monday was a slow pick and they only managed to put 4 keeper tautog in the boat along with some scup and throwback sea bass. On Saturday Jim Hou's group was up from New Jersey and they had a solid day with 15 keeper tautog, a bunch of scup and a nice cod.

Capt. John Rainone of Lil Toot Charters ran two trips this past week. Early in the week he had a charter that wanted bluefish and they found a bunch along with some small striped bass out around Block Island. After catching their fill of blues and bass they switched over to ground fishing and caught a bunch of nice-sized scup. When we spoke on Sunday morning Capt. John was out in search of tautog and said that fishing was on the slow side. Most of the fish seem to still be up inside of the Bay which is probably due to unseasonably-warm water temperatures.
