Little Hawk Sport Fishing

The Arzee group started off the week aboard the Little Hawk with a pick of keeper bass, with Linda Swartz party finding very good bass fishing with all aboard decking a bass over 28 inches in the afternoon. The Frank Marra charter also limited out and played catch and release with more keepers early last week. On Wednesday the Terry Talcott charter enjoyed a good afternoon bite with keepers and slots, while Thursday morning's trip with Jason and his party decked a limit of stripers and caught and released more keepers. On Saturday the Ron Philipson group found a great morning of bass action with a limit of keepers and more keepers being caught and released. Capt. Joe Occhipinti said the Hawk will come out of the water on November, 27, and still has a couple of days open to get in on the fall fishing.

    Another boat that got into the stripers was the Little Hawk. Like most boats she too spent some early week time tied to the dock because of poor seas and weather. On Wednesday the Jim Cappola group started off the week with a good bite of stripers to 33 pounds along with slot fish. Thursday morning's Dennis Appleby charter enjoyed a good pick of bass to 34-pounds and played catch and release with plenty more fish. The afternoon excursion with the Woodbridge Mall party all caught bass over 28 inches. An evening trip on Friday with the Keith Dufford charter kept the string of good trips going with a mix of keepers and plenty catch and release fish. On Saturday the Montville Poker Club trip got off to a slow start, but the bass turned on and all caught their limit and played catch and release with plenty more keepers. The evening trip with the John Rogers group enjoyed another good afternoon of bass fishing with a limit of 28-inch plus fish, along with more keepers being released.

    It was four striped bass trips for the crew of the Little Hawk this past week. Capt, Joe Occhipinti said an early week trip with the Eyes On First Avenue charter caught some nice bass along with some keeper sea bass. The Dennis Appleby party found good bass fishing with all catching their 28-inch plus bass. An evening excursion with the Jay Dower party hit a good bite of bass, while the Rob Philipson group savored the best bass fishing of the fall with everyone catching their keeper and a slot fish.

    Capt. Joe Occhipinti the charter boat Little Hawk said he fished with the Dennis Appleby party on Friday with the group finding a few bass. A morning trip with the Vinny Lubowiecki saw a slow bite of bass, while the Don Neely charter enjoyed a good bite of stripers.

    Capt. Joe Occhipinti of the Little Hawk reported it was striper time for his Saturday charter. Joe said all aboard caught their bass over 28 inches with fish to 18 pounds being decked.
