Pete Santini of Fishing Finatics reported bluefin tuna to 82 inches taking live mackerel around Stellwagen's southwest corner. The action in that area has really held up well this season, and should continue for a few more weeks.

Pete Santini of Fishing Finatics heard of a really good bluefin bite from Peaked Hill on out to about feet of water. Bigger fish were had along the Southwest corner of Stellwagen.

  • September 30, 2019 Open or Close

Pete Santini of Fishing Finatics was up at bird hunting camp when we touched base, but he was kind enough to give his winged quarry a brief reprieve to tell me about a good bite of bluefin around Middle Bank. These 60- to 65-inch tuna have been slurping down mackerel, as they have for most of the season. It looks like it is shaping up to be an exciting fall on Stellwagen.

  • September 23, 2019 Open or Close

Pete Santini of Fishing Finatics reported good bluefin action around the corners of Stellwagen Bank this week, with the southeast, southwest, and northwest corners all producing tuna between 60-70 inches. Pete said that drifting live mackerel has been the most effective means of hooking up lately. Sharks have also remained present on the bank, as folks are encountering blues and threshers regularly. Pete noted more threshers this season than he can remember in years past, which is presenting an increasingly reliable option for shark enthusiasts in his area.
