Capt. Jon from the Capt. Bob Fleet out of Mattituck reports he hasn't been able to get out as much as would have liked since the blackfish are chewing hard. The days they have been able to get off the dock has seen very solid blackfish action with fish to 12 pounds. Some real large sea bass remain on the tog grounds and are mixing in the catches. Sharpies are having no problem nailing their limits with green and white crabs both being quite effective. Sunday saw fares enjoy excellent fishing with some limits of big togs being taken by the sharpies. Please give Capt. Jon a call or check out his Facebook page before coming out to be certain that the boat will be sailing on the day you plan to come out. Most likely however this coming weekend will be the last of the2017 season.

Capt. Jon from the Capt. Bob Fleet out of Mattituck reports while the scup, sea bass and blues continue to fly over the rails, the action with blackfish has also been very good when crabs are the only bait employed on the day. Tuesday saw a small crowd of tog sharpies at the rail using just crabs found the togs to be quite cooperative with many limits to 7 pounds. The solid tog fishing continued right through the week as the beautiful and mild weather did not slow down the tog bite or ground fish bite. Saturday's trip was chartered and the group was looking to diamond jig stripers. No one was disappointed as the stripers, loads of blues, some albacore and sea bass all graciously accepted the shiny metals. It's a true fall mix bag right now, come on out and enjoy the bounty.
