Moondance Charters

August 13, 2018:
Capt. Sal of Moondance Charters reports the week saw a lot of family trips. It's great to see young boys and girls enjoy angling and have an appreciation for the environment, conservation and the maintenance of our fisheries. Eddie and family came out and landed four stripers to 40 pounds and two bushels of porgies and sea bass. Gary and family came out and also nailed four of the big girls. Brian, Siobhan and children came out and landed a 40 pounder and a bunch of bottom fish. Frank and the guys came out and limited out on sea bass, 2 bushels of porgies and three nice fluke. John Quintero and his group came out and landed five stripers between 30 and 35 pounds. Scott, Howard and family came out and nailed two stripers to 30 pounds and a limit of sea bass. Adrian from Jersey and his crew boated four stripers all in the 20 to 25 pound range. The stripers are here but not the size and numbers of the moon. Some smaller fish are appearing. Just takes a little more work to get them now. Sal still has some dates available but they are filling fast. Therefore give the captain a call at (917) 601-4548.

Capt. Sal of Moondance Charters reports Eddie and crew were out for their third trip this year. A nice bunch of guys. Some had fished with Sal before. Those that hadn't were shocked watching the bass hit like a freight train. The guys performed well, netting a limit of bass to 40 pounds and then filling two bushel baskets of porgies and sea bass. These guys love their porgies. Matt Groh, his Eagle Scout son Andrew and friend Matt 12, came out for a magic hour trip for bass and were very happy to limit out. Youngster Matt really put on a show nailing two nice fish by himself. They also released a slob after their limit. Tony Young had his friends up from South Carolina for a porgy trip and just hammered the porgies into submission. The guys then went and hammered the sea bass. The guys went back down south with coolers packed. Chris with his wife and two boys 8 and 11 came out for a magic hour trip on the ebb tide and had three fish to 30 pounds. Sal still has some dates available but they are filling fast. Therefore give the captain a call at (917) 601-4548.
